Abstract
The paper discusses current and persistent problems of information-library services of artists (musicians, ac-tors, artists, writers etc). It considers specific information needs, information behavior, information self-service and informational culture of artists as a special social-professional group. The modern library is represented as the institution of art management creating conditions for effective activity in the field of professional art.
The culture informatization role in changing the social communication system is revealed, which realizes the potential of creative workers. The dynamics of their information needs is studied and the problem is set to re-spond adequately to the information-library service modern system. The library is considered as an institution of art management creating the conditions for effective activity in the culture and arts field as a result of the trinity meet the information needs of creative professionals: information of general cultural and professional character; forming a personal fragment of information resources on the arts; providing feedbacks to a recipient. The proposed concept is to arrange new services to users of libraries on arts or libraries forming art collections both virtual and traditional.
