Stages of formation and development of library and information system of the Ural Branch of RAS

Abstract

The system of academic libraries of the Ural Branch was formed simultaneously with the establishment of academic institutions in 1932. The article considers the main stages of its formation and development. Today information and library provision of core research areas of the Ural Branch (UB) of RAS associated with natural and technical sciences, the complex of the sciences on man and society, fulfill 25 libraries located
in Yekaterinburg and 6 research centers of UB RAS.
