Abstract

Application of bibliometric analysis to periodicals acquisition is presented on the base of the State scientific center of virusology and biotechnology «Vector» and the Institute of petroleum geology and geophysic SB RAS. The authors showed efficient methods of semiautomatic data gathering on scientists’ publishing activity and their references. The proposed method of citation analysis enables librarian to define the core of periodicals collection quickly and efficiently. Applying this method it is possible objectively to refine list
of subscribed periodicals.
