Viktor Pavlovich Gajewski as a bibliographer

Abstract

The article treats the activities of V. P. Gajewski as a bibliographer, the main features of the development of Russian bibliography in the 50–70s of the XIX century, specifics of the «bibliographic school» in literary criticism. The paper analyzes the V. P. Gajewski bibliographic works, their importance in the development of national bibliography, as well as the relationship between V. P. Gajewski and  outstanding bibliographers
of the time.
