Abstract

The book «Noord en Oosten Tartaryen» by N. Vitzen became the information source for G. F. Miller for his «The History of Siberia», more precisely – a small fragment based on the Dutch translation of the first historical part of the Russian literary and historical writing «Description of new lands, precisely Siberian kingdom and Moskow state» dated the end of XVII – beginning of XVIII century, identified neither the author
of «Noord en Oosten Tartaryen», nor the author of «The History of Siberia». The known to us copies of this writing appeared during 30 years on the border of centuries among ambassadors. Only one collection with the full copy of «Siberia description» remained in Russia. The other copies belonged to foreigners. That resulted
in the appearance a German translation during the same 30 years and the first publication of this memorial in Dutch but not in Russian. «The History of Siberia» by for G. F. Miller in the middle of XVIII «returned» the Description of Siberia to Russia.
